It is mentioned in "A Land So Dedicated" compiled by Bobbie Hicks Nelson as being located on the south east corner of Main and Evergreen Streets (dated 1873). A photo appears on page 139. According to further information it was build in the early 1850s. It goes on to state that it was later the home of Joel Mann. "The First Hundred and Ten Years of Houston County, Georgia (1822-1932)" also has information on the school, 12 pages.
