    3. I have an ancestor in Houston County,Isaiah B Johnson born Georgia c1828, that would have been the right age to be in the War between the States. Cousins and I have been unable to locate him in any pertinent records. In searching the Records, we find the 23rd Senatorial District Georgia Militia Enrolment of Present Militia Company - District #771 - Houston County Can anyone tell me what district #771 is? Would that have been all of Houston County or a certain part of Houston County? J.B. Johnson is noted as a 38 year old farmer - born in Georgia - Detailed ( under exemption). Can anyone explain what detailed means? Other exemptions were easier to understand ie substitute or disability. Any assistance with this will be appreciated. If there is a J.B. Johnson, then at least we will know to look elsewhere. We have located the 55th Regiment Georgia Militia - Houston County 1862: J.B Johnson along with Alfred, Ashley, A. B., E.W., Felix, M. W., N. T,, Russell, William, W.K., W.M., & W.S. Johnson. Having looked at the original on microfilm, I wonder if I.B. could be correct and not J. B. On the other hand, there could have been a J.B. Johnson living in Houston County during this time. Can anyone advise if there was a J.B. Johnson in the area. I don't think that Isaiah did ever fight for the Union, as he lived in Houston County after the War, as there is no family tradition of a Unionist in family. Thanks for your help, Gaila
