Kevin, that is so wonderful of you to help with Andersonville. My husband's line has a Union soldier buried there and I have visited the grave. If you would like information about him, I'd be glad to supply it....also we are lucky to have some letters from him (but before he went to prison). He was with 101st Pa. Co I - James Hoey/Hoy And I also think it would be so helpful if we could post on-line the Guards...since so many of those were from our area. I realize that there was a large number of guards though! My husband had two great grandfathers from the Union side there also. James Chitwood and Thomas William Gray from Campbell CO, TN crossed the mountain and joined the KY Union group. If the soldier is on record,,, or you have documents showing he was here by name, there will be a paper file opened in his name.
