    3. Thanks to Virginia Crilley who has shared this new service of the State Archives with us. "STATE ARCHIVES LOOSE PAPERS Liz shares this great site which I had totally missed. (Not all counties are there) http://www.sos.state.ga.us/misc/search.htm Then search "Unbound Marriage Records" (it also shows other unbound records, wills, tax records, etc.) Most counties are listings of the records on hand but some others to have the actual marriages records typed. I just typed in "Hiram Drane" --- and found that they have the listing of the names of all the Warrents. Each of these names has a file in the State Archives providing the information about the land. (So try it on your ancestors!) Of course, the name isn't much, but it sure does give you an idea about what to search for when you go!" This could be quite useful before a trip to the Archives.
