The Nelson Cemetery information is back on the Houston County Webpage. Seems we lost the link. Now that the holidays are over, please contact me with information or photos, so that we can add more information on the webpage. If anyone sent me anything to me recently about the page, just remind me. I was in and out over the Christmas Holidays as this is also our summer holiday time. Thanks very much, Gaila

Hi Sandra, Thanks for thinking of me. Hope you and yours are all well and that y'all had a most joyous holiday season. I had found the 1820 SC census record for one Nimrod Jackson, but if you will check it out you will see that this Nimrod was evidently "45 and upward", so that means he was at least 20 years older than the Nimrod who married Elizabeth Busby. I have Nimrod's date of birth listed as Oct. 22, 1795. I have tried to find some document that would connect "my" Nimrod with the 1820 SC Nimrod - but, no luck. I figure that the SC Nimrod may have been "my" Nimrod's father or perhaps an uncle. In fact, the earliest record of Nimrod/Elizabeth that I have been able to find is a Bibb County, GA deed dated Dec. 10, 1824. I just can't find him between his 1814 marriage to Elizabeth and this 1824 deed. and I've checked SC and GA records for that time period. I don't get the BUSBY-L emails. I did at one time but unsubscribed because there was never anything "new" being discussed. I'm still doing research but on a limited basis since Jim had a stroke and I don't like to leave him alone for long at the time. If I ever find anything new I'll be sure to share it with you. And, again, thanks for thinking of me. Grace Davis has visited the old cemetery in Peach County (formerly part of Houston) which was the Providence Methodist Church. This was a labor of love to share with all of you, as she has no relatives buried there. The marker indicated the deed for the church was made in 1833, so it was a very early church. (Wouldn't it be wonderful to get more history of the church on-line?) If you know anything about these people buried there, I'd love to add them. I thought the inscription on the one child's monument was odd. Was I misreading it? In remembrance of the interesting MARY JANE HOWARD who was born October the 18th 1831 and died February 13th 1834 http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ga/peach/photos.html You can see the tombstone photos here. This is the more complete listing of the cemetery. http://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/ga/peach/cemeteries/provmeth.txt This was a survey done in 1995 by Davine V. Campbell, Guelda L. Hay, & Millie C. Stewart based on Addie Howell's work (Cemeteries and Obituaries of Houston County) We plan to also have this information posted on Arlene Woody's Peach County page: http://www.rootsweb.com/~gapeach/

Hello everyone and Happy New Year - Considering the state of world affairs we are very blessed, even if we do have too many brick walls in our research. I am interested in hearing about any New Year's resolutions regarding Genealogy. We all have some bit of information that we have found and it turned out not to be about our ancestor. Why doesn't everyone look in their file and send the list the most interesting piece of information. You just might provide the missing link for someone else. Wishing everyone a peaceful, healthy, happy and genealogical bountiful 2004, Gaila
