We've often talked about how our families moved to various locations.....NOW there is a place for everyone to submit these migrations! The Migrations project at http://www.migrations.org I just briefly visited it and wanted you to urge you to get your materials together and post on the site. Visit the "post data" site and look around to see what you need. Basically it is this: 1)Name 2)Year born 3)Year died **can leave these blank or estimate 4)Where born Town/county State Then you get to the migration part. You've already listed the place of birth.... 5)so the next step is the 1st move the family made. (Instructions are very clear... so take a few minutes to read them carefully) 6)Additional information You can add some special notes if you know other members of the family that moved at the same time. Since there are lots of spaces, you can provide all the movement for that individual until he dies. Then start out with another individual and move that family. It should be lots of fun! On the front page, you can click on the State, i.e. Georgia....but the not all State pages are on-line yet. When it does come on, then you'll see in alphabetical order all those who have posted. In the meantime, you can post your materials from the FRONT page, and then when the State page is on-line, all of it will appear. It should be interesting to do "searches" to see other families that came to the same area at the same time from the same place!! Our county pages will be able to link , but just thought you might beinterested in taking a look at this in the meantime! Go get your dates, and names together....and start posting. If you have ANY questions, just ask. I know lots of you haven't posted much before, but it really isn't that difficult. It's like anything.....very confusing the first time you post something on-line, but then it gets easy.... Virginia
Hello I will be updating the page and adding the most recent photos. Virginia has seen a site which has postcards of an area. if anyone has postcards of Houston County, please just scan them in and email to me in a jpeg format. We will load those up too! Especially if anyone has older postcards of the area. I am going to go and search my collection now. Thanks Gaila

Everyone should see at least one reenactment in their life time. My husband and I went with our kids to see the one held last year in Old"Clinton",Georgia. It was very moving and very loud. We plan to go to Andersonville to see the reenactment there also. Bring plenty of tissues for the tears and ear plugs for the ears. Stephanie langston
Dear Sandra, Thanks for the info on Andersonville week-end. Pat and I are planning to attend. If our plans work out, we will let you know and would like to meet you if you are going to be there. Cousin Wayne

Frank I know this isn`t what you want but Gaila and I have been wondering about it for years now. I have a Thomas A Johnson marrying a Vicie Ann Doles the daughter of the people you are researching I`m sure, do you know anything about this Johnson line?? They had a son named Charles Franklin Johnson, Franklin is one of my G-uncles names and they named thier children Milton, Freeman, Gladys, Louise and Hazel all but Freeman is the name of my mom and her brother and sisters. Thomas and Vicie are buried at Shiloh Methodist Church, and I think this is where my ggg-gradfather and his wife went. Do you by chance know anything about them if you need more information I have it. I would love to know who Thomas`s father was. I looked in my marriage records and couldn`t find the info you wanted. Thanks Sandra
Does anyone know the maiden name of Vicey Doles wife of John ??
