    1. [GAHOUSTO] Lakeview
    2. J. N. Dixon
    3. While chatting about Lakeview this might be some help to somebody. Lakeview Road is in Peach County, Georgia and connects Hwy 41 to Hwy 49 at Powersville, Georgia. It goes across Interstate 75. It goes past Houser Mill Road, John E. Sullivan Road, Son Howard Road, Mary Lou Drive, Cliett Road, Browns Mill Road. Fellowship Church is situated right off of this road. Little Bethel Church is right by the road. I heard there were about 5 or 6 graveyards in that area but have not seen them myself. Hope this helps. JD ________________________________________________________________ YOU'RE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR THE INTERNET! Juno now offers FREE Internet Access! Try it today - there's no risk! 3. I recognize the name "Mrs. C. K. Watson". The C.K. is Clint Watson. He had a brother, Hubert Watson. Hubert and his wife had a daughter named Cherry Watson, and a son named Hubert, Jr. called "Buddy". I went to school with Cherry and Buddy. Mr. Hubert operated a grocery store/filling station in Centerville which was located on the same site where the big Baptist Church is presently located. Clint, Jr. and Clint, III still live in Warner Robins. Will provide phone numbers if interested. ---------- > From: Gaila & Jim Merrington <[email protected]> > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [GAHOUSTO] Sally Cherry Hill & Rev Sam Hill > Date: Sunday, March 05, 2000 5:23 PM > > Is Anyone connected to this Cherry family, looking for Sallie's parents. > Sallie Cherry born C 1855, married to Rev Sam Hill 2 Feb 1881. 3. Sallie Cherry was the daughter of Spencer Cherry. Her daughter, Mabel Clara Hill (Mrs. Oliver Cromwell Hancock) was my grandmother. Mrs C. K. Watson (Aunt Sallie V. , as she was called,) still has a son living in Warner Robins. He is my 1st cousin once removed. He showed me where Spencer and Nancy Cherry are buried and Sallie Cherry is also buried there, but her grave is unmarked. I have not done much research on this part of the family lately, and do not have much information about Spencer. Do have some information about his descendants. 3. The Mormon or LDS information is excellent to look through, although like everything in Genealogy, you use it as a guide and get the actual source material. The LDS material covers information such as census, the Ancestral roles, census material, church records (all denominations), city and county records, the IGI, and they also give you Web page addresses. They are more generic web pages. If you find on a Web site or LDS or library a marriage date for instance, it is still best practice to get the actual Marriage certificate. The same for death certificate, etc. You might find out additional information and you have "proved" your line. Genealogy is about getting the facts and getting the Story. The best site to look at for the LDS Family History Search is: http://www.familysearch.org/ What year were your Dixon Relatives in Houston County? Gaila ----- Original Message ----- From: J. N. 2. Gaila & Jim Merrington
    3. In early Bibb County Georgia and Houston County Georgia, there seem to be as many as three seperate Cherry families. In Houston County, Sandra and I are sure that William, Spencer and Riley are brothers, all born in NC. This is not proven, but we have William settling on land that he bought from Spencer and Riley joining them shortly afterwards. They are in the Centerville area. We think that William was a member of the Shiloh Methodist Episcopal Church and may be buried there. Spencer lived in the Henderson district of Houston County (1860 census). There is also a Francis Cherry, born in NC, who had previously lived in Alabama, but moved to the Perry area in Houston County. He was a minister and an editor of a Newspaper. Was he also a brother? In the 1860 Census Bibb County, there were Cherrys: Joel T., John H. Lemuel, Martha, Mary x2, W.A., William x 2. One of these is my William. There was also an Abner Cherry, Hilliard, Joseph,Isaac N and Addison. Does anyone know if these Cherry's are related? I would love to know more about the Bibb County Cherry families to see if there are connections. Thanks Gaila
