    3. Thank all of you that have made such good suggestions to me. I live in TX and have so much to learn about this part of GA. This is what I have Proof of: JAMES (we think initial T. but not proven yet) ADAIR b. 03 June 1790 location unknown now (possibly in SC) married ANN (called Annie) SMITH b. 17 May 1789 in GA 'I think' but unknown. Married 14 Feb. 1814 we think in GA. James died in Memphis/Shelby Co. TN 22 March 1851. Ann d. 16 Oct. 1852. WILLIAM ADAIR b. 1799 possibly in SC but unproved. William "traveled back to York Co. SC & married his old sweetheart", SUSANNAH DAVIS ROOKER 30 Dec. 1823 in York Co. SC. Susannah was born in SC abt. 1801 daughter of the Rev. John Rooker of York Co. SC. I have been told that the family of William Adair remained in either the Henry Co. area or at least in Georgia after the family of James T. & Ann Adair moved to other areas. Two sons of JAMES T. ADAIR & ANN SMITH ADAIR were born in Henry Co. GA. They were: JOHN SMITH ADAIR b. 1799. He married [1] Elzira b. 1825 in TN [2] Heslep b 1823 in KY married on 13 Nov. 1841 in Paulding Co. GA ANDREW JACKSON (called A.J. by family) b. 13 May 1831 married FRANCES GANTT b. 28 Oct 1839 in Gibson Co. TN married 24 Sept 1857 in Marshall Co. MS. Frances died 07 Jan 1882 in Jackson Hinds Co. MS. They had 8 children. Andrew Jackson Adair served in the Confederate Army. After Frances died he moved his family to Hays Co. TX. We are trying to find the parents of JAMES ADAIR AND ANN SMITH ADAIR as well as the families of WILLIAM ADAIR & SUSANNAH DAVIS ROOKER ADAIR. It is possible that the brothers JAMES AND WILIAM lived or perhaps born in York Co. SC. We also think there were at least 2 sisters of these ADAIR brothers and would like to find them too. The ADAIR family could have come from PA (now DE) by way of the Great Wagon Road between PA and SC. in the middle to late 1700's. I do thank everyone that has sent me information. I am new to this area and have so much to learn about it. I will locate two books that have been suggested, "First Families of Henry County, GA" and "Gone to Georgia". Any other suggestions will be more than welcome. Nell Adair Lewis
