This site shows a map of the US showing the distribution of people by surname within th 50 states. Sources are the 1850 census, 1880 census, 1920 census and the 1990 phone books. It uses a sampling of 1 in 100 with color to show populations of surname by state. You can see where your family was, and where they all went. :) this is a fun site to try with different names. Stef
