    1. [GAHENRY-L] Corrections
    2. In regards to my earlier post relating to James Russell of Fairfield Co. SC, Henry Co. GA. In addition to some spelling errors in my post, the website address should read: http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/d/e/n/Gregory-D-Denson/index.html This is not my website. As I said, there are errors in connecting the descendants of James Russell of Fairfield Co SC to the family of James S. Russell of Gwinnett Co GA. Also, James Russell of Fairfield Co SC and his son, James Russell d. Henry Co GA, never used the middle initial "S". Many have asked the owner of this website to make corrections- it even states that my siblings and I were born in California! Wrong. Susan Beeler Anderson, San Gabriel CA.

    1. [GAHENRY-L] Need help with mystery pictures....
    2. Luan Harper
    3. Hello: My great grandfather, Charles Gordon Rape (b. 09-17-1879; d. 02-25-1968) had two old group pictures which were passed down to another cousin. She recently sent me copies and we have no idea who these people are! In one of the pictures, I can pick out my great grandfather and his second wife, Effie. They married in 1913 so I am assuming that more than likely these people are all Rape family relations. This picture was made probably in the early 1920's judging by the clothes the people are wearing. However, the second picture was taken much earlier than this one and contains absolutely no one I recognize. My great grandfather's first wife was Eva Jane Spinks. Her parents were Benjamin Lewis Spinks and Emily C. Singley. The thought crossed my mind that perhaps this picture contained family members of the Spinks' or even the Singley's. Looking at the people's dress, I would say this picture was taken sometime between the 1880's and the early 1900's. The Rape family was in Henry Co., GA from the early 1820's through the present. The Spinks and Singley families were concentrated mostly in Butts Co., GA. If anyone is interested in helping me try to identify these individuals, I have scanned a copy of both pictures and will be more than happy to email them as attachments. Any help will be most appreciated! Also, does anyone know if the historical societies of Henry and/or Butts Co. have email? I wondered if perhaps someone there could help with this. 2. Stefanie Gilbert
    3. This site shows a map of the US showing the distribution of people by surname within th 50 states. Sources are the 1850 census, 1880 census, 1920 census and the 1990 phone books. It uses a sampling of 1 in 100 with color to show populations of surname by state. You can see where your family was, and where they all went. :) this is a fun site to try with different names. Stef

    1. [GAHENRY-L] Milton Akins
    2. Hi. Does anyone have access to census records, or know if they are on rootsweb for Henry Co? Also, is there a history of Henry Co book? I thought I saw something about one once. Okay, I have a Milton AKINS (1801-1877)and Dorinda DANIEL (1810-1893) who were married in Morgan Co, but moved to Henry Co at some point. Two of their daughters, Anna Jane b. 1834 and Martha Dorinda "Mattie" b. 1837 married TARPLEY boys - Henry Clay and William Hampton, Jr. The marriages took place in 1852 (Henry and Anna Jane) and 1854 (WH and Mattie) in Henry Co. The other children of Milton and Dorinda were Lizzie, Louisa Amanda b. 1830, Belle, Etta, and Walter. I'm looking for anything on Milton and Dorinda. Also, if anyone has anything on the TARPLEY's in Henry Co. William Hampton, Sr. may have had a will there. He would have died around 1860 maybe. Are any of these people in your family lines? Thank you in advance. Stephanie Cellucci.

I am a direct descendent of This line of Stanley's and would love to find out about them in any way. This part of my family was always a big secret . My Grandmother (born a stanley) never spoke of them, and My grandfathers family disowned him when they married so I do not know much about my history. Any info on these people would go long ways toward my finding a relative who could actually tell me what the big deal was. Thanks. Stefanie Gilbert --e-mail SIIMOM@webtv.net Marland, OK

    1. [GAHENRY-L] Rape/Allum/Whitaker/Nail families - Henry Co., GA
    2. Luan Harper
    3. Hi: I would like to correspond and compare notes with anyone descended from or researching the Rape's, Allum's, Whitaker's, and/or Nail families in Henry Co. My gg grandfather was George Washington Rape (09/26/1833-12/1902). He was the son of Peter Rape (11/18/1790-10/18/1840) and his second wife Mary Allum (who was the daughter of Mr. Allum and Winniford ? Allum). George Washington Rape married (1) Louisa Whitaker, February 14, 1860, Henry County, GA. He married (2) Louisa Frances Nail, February 14, 1875, Henry County, GA. I believe that Louisa Frances Nail was possibly the daughter of John Nail and wife Malinda ?, but I would like to further confirm this. I don't know anything about the parents or siblings of Louisa Whitaker. Luan Harper lyh@gate.net
