Is anyone researching or know anything about these families? Both couples were married in Henry Co., GA. Who were their parents? Memory M. McMullin md. Hannah Fargerson Dec. 4, 1833 Sarah Mc____ md. Edward Jackson Sept. 2, 1841 Any help would be appreciated. I am trying to determine if these (McMullin and Mc___) were part of my McMullan line in Henry Co. at the time. Thanks.
I am not researching these lines but have some information that was published in the book "First Families of Henry County, Georgia." Do you have access to this book? On page 381 there is a family history written on John Alford Jackson, son of Edward (Ned) Jackson and Sarah McKinney. There is a good bit written on the Jackson line. Starting of page 380 there is a family history written on the JACKSON of McMULLEN'S District north of McDonough. The Fargason family is also featured in this book on page 251. It mentions Hannah Fargason (b.1814) m. Memory McMullin (1838~does not give exact date). Hannah's parents were Johnson and Mildred H. Fargason. Hannah died in 1872. I will be glad to answer questions or better yet fax or mail you photocopies of these pages if you do not have access to the book. Hope this helps. Yvette Taylor Stewart Stockbridge, GA

Has anyone any information on this boarding school that operated in the early 1900's? My father was there in 1914. -- Jim Blease mailto:leds@datasys.net Valdosta, Ga. ICQ #: 19431334
I have a copy of "First Families of Henry County" at my home and I see in the index COWAN names, but none are Elijah. Even the Cowan names that are listed were in the county much later than 1830-40. I am not that familiar with how the county lines were drawn, but I see the district that is numbered 622 as being in the most northern tip of the count close to Dekalb County. There is a lot on Henry County, but nothing else available to me at home here. If you do not live in the Atlanta area, I can only suggest that you contact the Henry County Genealogical Society in McDonough, GA. There is a staff of volunteers who may be able to answer questions who work at the library there on Mon, Wed. & Fri (10am-3pm) The address is: The Genealogical Society of Henry & Clayton Counties, Inc. P.O. Box 1296 McDonough, GA 30253-1296 Phone # 770-954-1456 Good Luck!! Yvette Taylor Stewart Stockbridge, GA

My GG-Grandfather was Thomas W. Watson. He lived in Henry CO. (Stockbridge) at the time of the Civil War. Enlisted at Stockbridge and was home on furlow at the war's end. His first wife was Martha Jane Shaw. She died 2-7-1890. He married twice more to Margaret Comptom and Haney Reter Smitherman. Little is known about his father Ezekiel Watson. Family records tell me that Thomas was born in Stokes Co NC on 1-9-1823. His father Ezekiel was born is Wayne Co. about 1795. Ezekiel's wife was named Elizabeth. Has anyone run across this group of Watsons? They finally settled in Alabama and Texas. I am stuck in 1795. Any help would be appreciated. Dr. John Watson Tallahassee, FL
In the 1920's and 1930's divorces were a superior court record and you should check with the Clerk of the Superior Court of Henry County at McDonough. If, by chance, you meant 1820's and 1830's, it starts as a Superior Court record. But, then to be final, it had to be approved by the General Assembly via a legislative Act. Joan Pettengill
Can anyone tell me how and where divorces were handle in the 1920's and 1930's in Henry Co. Thanks Stef in OK

Many of my direct ancestors are buried in the KNIGHT Family cemetery in McDonough off Hwy. 155. I am trying to find more information on my Great-grandmother Mamie Irene BRADY. She married Talulah Edward "Eddie" TAYLOR in Atlanta in 1908. Eddie's family home was near the site of the KNIGHT cemetery in McDonough. I am trying to find more information on Mamie's family. I under stand that her mother's maiden name was MORRIS and may have also had connection to Henry County as well. Anyone connected or having information please contact me.
