According to the story handed down, my great grandfather was "Ed" (Edmund or Edward) Daniel who was also known as "Mr. Jim" in Heard County. He apparently had been, at one time, the deputy sheriff or a "Lawman" of sorts in Franklin, Heard County, GA. He was married to Carrie (White) Daniel. I know little about Ed or Carrie with the exception that Carrie died in 1910 and Ed in December of 1917 or 1918. Ed supposedly had two brothers and one sister at least: Rudolph (?),. Percy (?) and a sister whose name I do not know. Carrie White had sisters: "Effie", "Fannie" and Viola I believe. Ed and Carrie also lived for a time in Louise and LaGrange, Troup county Georgia. They had several children: Luther Edward born around 1898/99, Willie Mae born in 1899/1900; James Robert (my grandfather born in 1902), Vera Aiden; Mary Emma (born 1906), Curtis (born 1907/1908) and Ruby Lea born 1910.
