DANIEL, per her widow's civil war pension application, and after he died in the civil war, she remarried to James A. Arp in 1868 in Cleburne County, Alabama. She moved to Heard County, GA by the 1880 census. I don't know who William F. Daniel's parents were or if they lived in Heard Co. GA. Civil War Widow's Pension of Fannie Arp filed in October 1910 in Heard County, Georgia, based on the civil war service of her first husband William F. DANIEL who died in the civil war: October 17, 1910 Widow's Application of Mrs. Fannie ARP, of Heard County, Georgia Under Act of 1910 for widow's who lost a husband during the war as a soldier, remarried and is now a widow. Soldier Husband's Name: Wm. F. DANIEL Company K, 34th GA Regiment Name of Last Husband: J.A. ARP Widow's Affidavit Who Lost Husband, Killed During War and Afterwards Married, Now a Widow State of Georgia, Heard County Personally before me comes Fannie ARP of said county, who after being sworn on oath says that she became the lawful wife of Wm. F. DANIEL on the __ day of September 1861 and that on the 1st day of March 1862 he did enlist in Company K Regiment of the 34th GA Reg't and that on the 21st day of April 1863 he died as a result of an injury received in the line of duty, leaving this applicant his widow. That on the 25th day of December 1868 she was married to J.A. ARP of Cleburne County, State of Ala., and that on the __ day of December 1871 in the County of Cleburne, State of Ala. the said J.A. ARP died and that this deponent is now a widow and has been a citizen of Heard County, GA since 1908. That she was on the 4th day of November 1908 or at the death of her last husband, left in the use, possession and control of the following property: Acres of land, cash value - - None Horses or Mules - - None Hogs, cows and other stock - - None Money, Notes, etc. - - None Actual Income and Savings - - Nothing That since the 4th of November 1908 or the death of her husband, she has sold or given away the following property of the cash value as follows: Nothing That she is now is the use, possession and control of the following property at the cash value of: None Total value of all property- - Nothing Fannie Arp, X, her mark Sworn to and subscribed to by me this 17th day of Oct 1910. W. DUKE, who after being duly sworn on oath says that he knew Wm. F. DANIEL, that he enlisted in Company K 34th GA Regiment Volunteers on the 1st day of March 1862 and that on the 21 day of April 1863 he died as a result of the i njury received (measles) while in the line of duty as a soldier in the Confederate Army and that he knows Mrs. Fannie ARP the applicant. She and her said soldier husband were married on the 4th day of September 1861 and that she was his widow at his death, that he knows that the said Fannie ARP married again on the 25th day of December 1868 to one J. A. ARP and that her said husband J.A. ARP died on the __ day of Dec 1871 and that she Fannie ARP the applicant is now a widow. W.W. MULLOY, who after being sworn on oath says that they are Free Holders of the County of Heard and that they know Mrs. Fannie ARP and that she was on the 4th day of November or at the death of her last husband on the __ day of December 1871 and that he left her in the control of property at it's true cash value as follows: NONE, Nothing. "Fannie" Arp's tombstone says "Wife of James A. F., son, May 1899, age 1, Georgia Fannie Arp, mother, Dec 1835, age 64, Alabama, Alabama, Georgia **************************** 1920 census Heard County, Georgia Rockalo Dist. page 238 James A. Arp, age 47, Georgia, Alabama, Georgia Eliza J., wife, age 51, Georgia,South Carolina, Georgia Naomi, daughter, age 24, Georgia Zollie, son, age 18, Georgia Nina?, daughter,age 13, Georgia Sherman, son, age 7, Georgia ********************** It appears that there were two DANIEL children from Fannie's marriage to James A. Arp (Sr.); William Daniel born ca 1863 and Mary Daniel born ca 1864 or ??. Don't know what became of these Daniel children, if they married or died young or ? >From the book "History of Heard County Georgia 1830 - 1990" compiled by the Heard County Historical Society, ublished in 1991, reprinted in 1996, is an article about this Arp family: ...." James Andrew Arp married Sarah Francis "Fannie" Ann Green and they had at least three children as follows: Lizzie who married an Ashley; Thomas, and James Andrew who married Elizabeth Jane Stroud." ********** The Ashley who Lizzie married was Abram (Abraham) Patrick (Ped) ASHLEY who was a son of William Ashley and Sarah Thompson who lived in Heard County, Georgia. 1900 census for Heard County, GA shows Lizzie Ashley as a widow, with children: Luther age 9; Zummer and Zebbie twin girls age 8; Effie age 5; Georgia age 2 (page137 household 320 Centralhatchee township) "Ped" is buried at Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery, Heard County. He died in 1898. Would like to know if the children of LIzzie Arp Ashley and Ped Ashley married and had children, who they married, etc. and to find descendants of their families to share information with. Would also like to know more about the DANIEL family of William F. Daniel (first husband of Fannie Green Daniel Arp.)
