    3. Valerie, Yes, I think we have. I don't know where you get all your information from that you submit to the Ga website but it has been absolute priceless to me. Between you and Judy Kilgore's column and many others, I have collected so much information.None of hubby's Simonton cousins are interested in genealogy but I have have found a 3rd cousin of his, David Rogers, from another line that I am corresponding to as a result of something he submitted to USGenweb. (Information from the Wood Family Bible) I think this is one of the most fascinating things I have ever done. Just wish I had started sooner. Didn't start til about 3 years ago. Thanks for the offer of a copy of Asa's pension papers. Will be happy to contribute to the cost. Smith / Washington Memorial Library Carolyn -- I believe we have corresponded before. My husband is direct descendant of Caroline Elizabeth Miller & 1st husband, Robinson Brigman. She then married Asa after Robinson died at Vicksburg. I have written the Macon library to get pension papers for Asa in hopes they mention marriage date to Caroline, perhapes her death date, etc. (Thank you Jane Benson for reminding me to use them). Yes, there is a charge but it is nominal -- per page I believe. They just send you the stuff with a bill of copying costs + postage. Of course, I always send more then they ask for cause that's what keeps these great services going. The link to the site is: http://www.co.bibb.ga.us/library/G&H.htm There is an e-mail address at the bottom of the page to contact them with what you are after. I will transcribe and share Asa's app when I get it, so you don't need to worry about getting it, too. Valerie Freeman Tustin, California Valerie, Hubby has an Asa J. Smith, husband of his great grand aunt, Caroline Elizabeth Miller. His Asa was born 9 Feb 1839 in Oglethorpe Co, Georgia and died 30 Jan 1911. He is buried in Olive Branch Cemetery. Is this your Asa? Is there a cost to getting his pension papers.
