Valerie, Hubby has an Asa J. Smith, husband of his great grand aunt, Caroline Elizabeth Miller. His Asa was born 9 Feb 1839 in Oglethorpe Co, Georgia and died 30 Jan 1911. He is buried in Olive Branch Cemetery. Is this your Asa? Is there a cost to getting his pension papers. Can anyone tell me who the Jane Miller, age 8, is in the 1870 Heard County, Georgia MD 788 Census with the family of John and Talitha Miller. I don't think she is a daughter because the next child is Willis, age 19. Any help is greatly appreciated. Carolyn
