    3. Addie Beatrice Eunice married Fletcher Ashley on 11 March 1899 in Heard County. William Eunice married Alice Daniel on 19 July 1911 in Heard County. Lem Eunice married Fanny Sears on 25 October 1911 in Heard County. What were their family relationships to each other ? In the 1910 census for Randolph County, AL, Gus UNIS was age 40, widowed, 3 children born / 3 still living. In the household with her was her son LEM UNIS, age 24, born AL. Next door to Gus & Lem Unis was Boswell Hammond (son of Boswell Hammond & Nancy Miller) with his wife Jane & children Anna & Rufus James. Gus / Gussie filed for a Civil War Widow's Pension and in it was a copy of her marriage license to Boswell Hammond. She states that they were married in 1914 in Randolph County, AL. She states that her full name is Gussie Traylor Unis Hammond. Candace has this file and will probably shortly put it in the Archives for viewing. In the 1930 census of Coweta County, GA, Grantsville District, Gus Hammond is age 50, widowed, and living with a son named Albert, age 18. William T. NUNIS, apparently the same William Eunice above that married Alice Daniel, is buried in Carroll County, GA at the Sardis Baptist Church, along with some other family members. William T. Nunis Oct 16, 1887 / Dec. 6, 1971 Alice D. Nunis Oct 16, 1897 / no death date given Robert Eunice Aug 9, 1892 / no death date given Ellen Eunice Apr 26, 1899 / Apr 4, 1954 Gussie Ann Hammond June 10, 1872 / May 18, 1947 Candace Gravelle, Suzanne Ashley, and I are trying to put the puzzle pieces of this family together in order to learn who Addie Beatrice's parents were and how she relates to William, Lem, John & Gussie Eunice. Any ideas or thoughts or even an old family Bible would be welcome indeed. Any family that falls into that vast chasm known as the "lost decades" between 1880-1900 needs all the help it can get and we do, too. Suzanne has an old family photo of Fletcher Ashley & Addie Beatrice Eunice Ashley that has the notation on the back of it "grandfather....Rev. Archibald Hammond.

I'm looking for a Permelia Ann POLLARD (b. ca 1807 GA and d. 1870-1880 TX) who married John BARKER (b. ca 1790-1800 GA and d. 1843-1860). Their children were raised in GA between 1820-1843, and they moved to TX, maybe via AL. Since a John Barker, Mary Pollard and Wm. A. Pollard are listed among the 1840 of citizens of Heard Co., I'm looking here. Children of John BARKER and Permelia Ann POLLARD were: Leonados William BARKER Mary Jane BARKER Harriet BARKER Pollard BARKER Betsy BARKER Josephine BARKER I haven't found this family on the 1850 census, but I believe they might have been traveling between GA, AL and TX in that timeframe.

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: BARKER, POLLARD, WEEKS Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Bd.2ADE/96.388 Message Board Post: What are the first names of your Barker and Weeks ancestors, and when did they live in Heard Co? I know of a group of families that included those surnames, who traveled from NC>TN>MO>TX between 1811 and 1827. They set up housekeeping at least a couple of times along the way. Maybe your folks stopped in GA instead of continuing with the others? I'm looking for information about Isaiah BARKER, William A. Pollard, and Mary Pollard who were listed among Heard Co. Citizens in 1840. Specifically if they were related to my family below: Seek parents & siblings of Permelia Ann POLLARD (b. about 1807 GA), and her husband John BARKER (b. 1790-1800 GA and d. between 1843-1860). Their children were all born in GA between 1830 and 1843. I don't know what counties, but possibly in NW Georgia. Children of John BARKER and Permelia Ann POLLARD were: Leonados William BARKER Mary Jane BARKER Harriet BARKER Pollard BARKER Betsy BARKER Josephine BARKER Since Heard is one of four GA counties that included both Barker and Pollard surnames in 1840, I hoped you might have run across my John BARKER while searching for your own BARKERS. Please let me know if you turn up anything. I haven't found this family on the 1850 census, but I believe they might have been traveling between GA, AL and TX in that timeframe. I have sometimes found my John Barker's family members in the same counties with the ones above who came from NC to TX, so it's likely that they are related - I just don't know how.
