    3. Hi everyone, I've got a question that has been bugging me for sometime and was hoping maybe someone on this list could help. The documentation on my Crews line ends with the marriage of Reuben Jordan Crews to Elizabeth Philips in Harris County in 1828. Family lore gives the death dates for both of these people as about the year 1854 which would make Reuben 50 and his wife 40 years old. Does anyone know of something special happening in the county at that time (they are listed in the Ellerslie District in the 1850 census) that would have allowed them both to die at a relatively young age and at the same time? Indian raids, epidemic, etc.??? Reuben's will was written in 1853 but I have not been able to figure out when it was proven. The will, however, was very specific about the education of his children. I don't know if that was because Reuben was a lawyer (which he was) or because he knew that he was going to die soon. And while I am at it I guess I'll ask another question that someone might be able to answer. Does anyone know what churches would have been around in that district at that time that they might have attended and did those churches have cemetaries that would still be accessible? I know that in the next generation the family members were Methodists but don't know whether that was true for Reuben's family. I am hoping that if their graves could be located I could confirm their death dates and locations. Well, sorry to go on so long. Any help is appreciated on these problems.
