Was wondering if anyone has any information on this family: Charles Philips (b. in North Carolina) m. to Anna Nix and had the following children: Elizabeth Yarbrough Philips, Dorinda Philips, Margaret Philips, Pleasant Jackson Philips, Abram Philips, George Nix Philips, Sarah Philips and Henry Lowe Philips. Elizabeth m. Reuben J. Crews in 1828 in Harris Co., GA and that is all that I have been able to prove (my line of descent is through Elizabeth and Reuben). I have heard that Charles Philips was called General Philips - don't know if this is real or honorary. Also that Charles was the first postmaster at Ellerslie (from Louise Calhoun Barfield's book on the history of Harris Co., GA). Any information anyone can provide would be gratefully appreciated.
