    1. Hamilton , Georgia 175th Adv,
    2. Att: Hamilton, Georgia, Congratulations on your 175th celebration Saturday. You have a beautiful little town and you can tell the people who live there loves it. The Firemen out did themselves in giving their time and support to their town. Smokey the Bear was great with the children and he also took the time to pose with me for my daughter's site. Bobby Peters was having a great time as hot as it was visiting with everyone, big smile and firm handshake. Mr. Peters also let us take a picture of him.( to see these pictures of the Celebration go to http://www.angelfire.com/weird2/georgia/ Some of the pictures are up, I think Jan still has more to post. My interest in Hamilton , Georgia , my gr gr grandpapa came to Harris County by way of Gwinnett County, Georgia in the 1827 Land Lottery. He was in Harris County 1827-1840. On census he was listed in Hamilton, Georgia. He owned land thru out Harris, Talbot and Taylor Counties. He help constitute many Baptist Churches. He was minister of the Bethel Baptist Church on Flat Park Road 1832-1840. The area was in Flat Rock , Georgia at that time, now it's in Muscogee County. The food smell great, people were gathering in groups and talking and laughing, there were booths for the Children. Also I learn something. Whitesville was the first little town in Harris County. I've heard of Whitesville Road, but didn't know there was a small town named after the White family. There were also Religion singers from the area that were well worth sitting down and leaning back and listing to. I enjoyed walking around in the town my gr gr grandpapa lived in 177 years ago. My gr grandpapa left Hamilton when he was fourteen years old. Somewhere in the Hamilton are he lived , went to church and played with his friends. He married Nancy Heard. The Heard family moved to Mississippi about the time my Waldrops moved in 1840.This is when genealogy comes alive and makes it all worth while. Thanks Hamilton, Georgia, let us know the next time you celebrate, we'll be there. Sandra maiden name Waldrop Muscogee County, Georgia
