    1. [GAHARRIS] Bethesda Baptist Church Ellerslie, Ga.
    2. I am researching my gr gr grandpapa Rev. Green Berry Waldrop who was a member of the Baptist Assoc. , Presbytery , He help constitued many Chruches in Harris County. He was also a minister of the Beth Baptist Chruch on Flat Rock in Columbus, Georgia, Muscogee County. I am researching the History Bethesda Baptist Chruch that was located in Harris County in 1834. I am researching who the Presbytery was with the Baptist Assoc and who constituted the Bethesda Baptist Church. I believe it was in Ellerslie. This road marks the route of the first telegraph lines from Washington to New Orleans, via Columbus completed in 1848. The road entered Harris County at Mt. Airy (later Ridgeway), 5 miles east from here. A stage coach inn, stores, houses and schools there were almost swept away by the cyclone of 1875. On this road stood Bethesda Baptist Church organized in 1828, later moved to Ellerslie. The home of General Henry Lowe, near this junction, entertained ex-President James K. Polk and other prominent visitors as they came from Milledgeville, then the capital of Georgia, along "The Wire Road". Thank you for any help. Sandra maiden name Waldrop Muscogee County, Georgia
