    3. This family is my brick wall and I keep chipping away at it. Part of this you've seen before, but I have a new clue. My gggrandfather was Dr. James E. Evans. This is according to a letter I briefly got to read yesterday before my aunt whisk it away (says she's going to a copy for her and I'll get the original back) the letter was from a Mrs. S.L. Jones. She was writing to tell my Grandfather that his father had past away. It was written in 1941. Stated they had sold the house in Atlanta and Macon and needed to split the proceeds. My grandfather was James Jefferson EVANS (b in Poughkeepsie, NY on Feb 15, 1873; d 1943 Hamilton, GA) ggranfather - William EVANS b. ??, GA buried in AL (one of my Uncles seems to remember that) before 1941 ggrandmother 1st wife Sadie Ivy (?) EVANS: died after 1873 (?) 2 children grandfather and daughter Lula - married an attorney named JONES and lived in Newnan, GA during WWII 2nd wife Anna CASH Hamilton, GA d before June 1880 1 child Jimmie In June 1880, my William EVANS was in Atlanta, GA and running a business of his own. I have a copy of the letter he wrote to his mother-in-law asking her to meet a train in West Point the next Wednesday to get Jimmie. He stated that his father had taken Lula and he was keeping Jeffie. He later (don't know when) was sent to live with the CASH family. Ya'll have the total of my knowledge on the EVANS side, other than a possible link.
