    3. Hi folks, This Sunday, February 9th the descendants and all others interested will meet at 1:00 pm et at the Clapp Cemetery in Columbus, GA. Our local newspaper, The Ledger Enquirer is to do a series on "Urban Cemeteries". If all goes as planned, this cemetery will be one featured in Sundays paper. There are suppose about 6 cemeteries all together. General directions for those coming from out-of-town. First from the Atlanta area, 85 to I85. Please bear with me as I don't know the exit numbers. You need to watch for Phenix City - hwy 80 west. This next section will apply for all coming in town: You need to exit off on River Road, 103, or 219, north. Immediately get in the left hand lane as you will turn in approximately a block. You should see signs that say Riverwalk or Oliver Dam. Approximately a 1/2 block the road will folk, take the left fork. Follow that winding road about a mile to the beginning of the riverwalk. Get out of you cars and stretch. Wear walking shoes. Please remember this cemetery hasn't been cleaned since the early 70's. If is a jungle and a mess. Second from the Montgomery area, 85 to 280 (431) in Opelika east. Exit on 80 east. Instructions above. Third, I75 - exit east in Tifton on 82, 520 later 27 to Columbus. This will be through Sylvester, Albany, and Ft. Benning. Watch for I85 north, should say Lagrange. Once on 185, you will need to watch for Phenix City - hwy 80 west and follow the other instructions. If any other instructions or information are needed, please email me separately from the list.
