If the Henry Lowe you are refering to is the same one I am looking at in Harris co. then he would be the father of James Lowe and the grandfather of George lowe who in turn fathered my grandmother Anna Lou Redd of Upatio Ga.This was not at all uncommon in the south in the 1800s. George F Lowe was the owner of Lowes general store in Box Springs Ga. just accross the county line rd from Upatio Ga. where the Redd family lived with in a few blocks from that store. I have seen the location but the store is gone. I also spoke with some locals who remembered the remnants of the store. And yes you are correct that Henry Lowe is listed as having one of the largest slave holdings in Harris co. I Will keep George and family in my tree unless someone can prove other wise.
