Hi everyone, I am researching Jonathan T. Watson b. 1828 SC who enlisted in Muscogee Co. GA 5 May 1862 and served as Private in the Muscogee Volunteers, Co. C, 46th Inf. Reg. GA. He was apparently injured in the war, was admitted to the Way Hospital In Meridien MS March 23, 1865 and apparently died in 1865. He is buried in the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in Harris Co. GA. He left a widow, the Jane Grant Watson, (dau. of James Grant Jr and Sarah Johnsey of Harris Co. GA). Jonathan and Jane were married in 1849 in Harris Co. They had 7 children: Mary, James M. (m. Frances "Fanny" Jane Johnsey), Emily, Loduske (m. ___ Williams), Sarah, Lorenza and John M. (m. Mary ____). Seeking parents of Jonathan Watson; suspect he came from Chester Co. SC where the Johnsey and Grant families were from. If anyone has any knowledge of this family, I'd appreciate hearing from you. The second part of my posting may be of interest to other Watson researchers: As part of my research, I wrote to the GA Archives to see if I could get a copy of Jonathan Watson's Pension file, assuming one existed. Today I received a reply that they found nothing on him. However, they sent me copies of correspondence related to another Watson man in Muscogee Co. GA and some this information may be of use to someone else out there so I thought I'd post it to the list. I know nothing about the following Watsons, just copying from the info I just received: William Thomas Watson b. 1844 died Jan 29, 1923 at age 79, Muscogee Co. GA; served with the 4th AL Reg Wife Emmie Jane; in 1930's resided at 2912 3rd Ave, Columbus; age 73 in 1931; died Dec. 28, 1940. They married in 1892. Daughter Ola Watson Blue, same address in 1941 Hope this helps someone. Again, if you have knowledge of the Jonathan Watson family, would appreciate hearing from you. Lorien Gunsallus
