This is very interesting to me, however, since I am related to the Grants through the Watsons. James and Sarah Johnsey Grant had a number of children, one of the youngest being Elizabeth Jane Grant. She married Johnathan Watson in Harris County in 1849, apparently not long after the Grants and Johnathan and his brother--whose name I do not recall--moved into Harris County from the Chester area of SC. I wonder if Hiram Watson was the son of the Brother, or of a set of Watsons who lived in western Harris County and from whom we are not descended so far as we know at this point. At this point I only know of one Grant family in Harris County, however. I will be in touch with you over this. Randy Phillips
Jonathan WATSON married Jane GRANT on March 7, 1849 in Harris County. Hiram B. WATSON married HenriettaBANKSTON on Nov 4, 1839 in Harrisd County, Ga.
