    1. CREWS family
    2. Charles Ottosen
    3. Hi All, Just joined your list so thought I would send out my information/request. I'm looking for information on the family of Reuben Jordan Crews. Reuben married Elizabeth Y. Philips in 1828 in Harris County. They had one son, Charles C. Crews, born in Harris Co. in 1830 before moving to Upson Co. where their second son, Leonidas, was born in 1831. They then moved back to Harris County where the rest of their children were born: James Mortimer (b. 1836), George M. (b. 1838), Fleming Jordan (b. 1841), Jackson Philip (b. 1844), Sarah (Sally) (b. 1846) and a son Algernon who died young. The 1850 census indicates that they lived in the Ellerslie District. Reuben was a lawyer. Elizabeth is supposed to be the daughter of General Charles Philips and Anna Nix and I am looking for proof of that statement. I am also looking for when and where Reuben was born. His father is supposed to be a Martin Crews. -- [email protected]

    1. Mountain Creek Baptist Church
    2. Mark A. Evans
    3. Seeking information on Mountain Creek Baptist Church. Where was it located? Is it still in existence today? I found Mountain Creek (the river) on the Harris Co, GA map but a community by this name was not shown on a map nor listed in the GA gazetteer. Have the original records been microfilmed? I viewed the transcripts of the church records from the Harris Co, GA GenWeb site and the transcribers did an excellent job. Now where do I go to get more information? Several family members were among the earliest church members. Thanks for your help. Teresa Norris Evans 12752 Lazy K Ave. Baton Rouge, LA 70810

    2. K.Dean
    3. Greetings to all on the list, I am searching for information on two of my ancestors - John RAGSDALE and Sarah F. WHITAKER. They were married in Harris Co, GA 10 Jan 1848 and we have a copy of the marriage license application. John Ragsdale is also listed on the 1850 Harris Co. Census: 1118 1185 John RAGSDALE 27 M W farmer 280 VA. This is all of the info we've been able to find on either of these elusive ancestors. If anyone has any information they would be willing to share or look up, please contact me. I've reached the hair-pulling stage on these two :). Thanks in advance to anyone who is willing to help!
