Hi, Karen, Write to the Harris County Library--that's where I got mine. You must also have the separate index. The complete set costs $135. Who are your relatives? Hi All, Does anyone have or know where I could get a copy of : "History of Harric Co. GA 1827-1961" by Louise Calhoun Barfield? Hi! I am new to this list. In fact I never thought we would ever get a Harris Co mail list!! I need help really bad. I found my GG-GreatGrandfather William G. or W.G. Walker in Nevada. I would love to know the story of how he got there!! Anyway on the census (1870-1880) he says that he was born in GA on 10/1828. His wife's name is Margaret _________. and she says she was born in Ireland. They had 4 children: Columbus, Hubert, Lillie and Crawford Kelly born from 1866-1876 all in Nevada. Crawford Kelly is my Great Grandfather. William left Margaret in a mental institution and is in the Jackson Co. Texas Census by 1900. I know she was still alive because I found her listed in the institution on the 1900 Census. Can you PLEASE look in your databases and see if you have William b.10/1828 in your records? I have been stuck on him for 5 years at least and I believe I have become obsessed with it!! I had talkd to a really nice lady that thought he might be connected with the Walkers in Mulberry Grove, Harris Co, GA. I have not been able to prove this. But she sent me a picture taken in the 1960's I believe of the Walker house in Mulberry Grove. She is not related to these Walkers, loved the house as a child and her family once had an oppurtunity to buy it but didn't. I would like to see if these are my Walkers, If not then I would love to make sure the family has this picture. Please, I am begging for help. Thanks in Advance Cindy Spencer in Deer Park TX (which is also in Harris County!)

I will occasionally send a message to both of my mailing lists when it applies to both. I have changed to a new search machine for searches within the site. I will eventually change the state wide and nation wide searches to the same machine. It is much, much easier for me than the other, which involved coding all the surnames. I won't have to do that with this one. Please try it out and let me know what you think. It's the one that says "Search This Site." I'm sending this note to both the Harris and Pike County sites, as it applies to both. I have placed a link on the main page to make it possible for you to easily search the mailing list archives. Someone recently asked about this, and I thought it a good idea. This is open to both subscribers and nonsubscribers. Hopefully, it will enable many more people to contact you who have common interests. Barbara Smallwood Stock [email protected] http://www.rootsweb.com/~gaharris (Harris Co.
