I am looking for a link: Alonzo Hundley-dob 1824(son of Jesse) married Martha Dismukes -dob1822 (daughter of Edmond Dismukes & Betheana Cox) in Harris County, Ga Dec. 1840. I find nothing that supports they lived there only that the license was issued from Harris Cty. I do know they were living in Ala. in 1842 at the time of the birth of their first child. I can't get any farther back than his father Jesse-dob abt 1790 place unknown, came to Ft Gaines, Ga from ?, then settled in Dale Cty, Al in 1824. Barb

Searching for Siblings, Parents and Ancestors of Judith GRESHAM, born about 1778, VA. Married James Sherwood DAVIS of Mecklingburg Co., VA. About 1800, died in Harris Co., GA. About 1860. Any information appreciated. Have Davis data, will share. Thanks George Stephens
There is now a link on the Harris Co GenWeb pages to the 1860 and 1870 censuses (stored in the USGenWeb Archives). We are not talking about an index or heads-of-household only. This is the scanned-in image of the actual census page. Some of the pages are very dark and hard to read, but so is the actual census. Check it out at http://www.rootsweb.com/~gaharris/census.htm. Greetings to the List, I've recently acquired a copy of the above mentioned book - on microfiche - and I'd be happy to do limited lookups for other Harris Co. researchers. For my own sanity (or what little there is of it) please follow the guidelines below. 1. Subject line: Harris Co. lookup 2. In body: Give first and last names of not more than TWO person. Any other pertinent info you have on these persons that might be helpful in tracking them down would also be good to include. 3. PLEASE be patient. I live over 20 miles from the nearest microfiche reader and will get to each and every request as soon as I'm able to. I will reseach/respond to requests in the order I receive them.
