    1. [GAHARRIS] Queries and Surnames for Harris Co GA
    2. Barbara Smallwood Stock
    3. If you have recently submitted queries or surnames to the Harris Co GenWeb site by email or using Query Express, please resubmit them using GenConnect. We are using that system now and I have not been processing them for some time. The only thing we are using the Query Express system for right now is for taking cemetery submissions with a modified Query Express submission form. Thanks. If you have a large number of cemetery submissions (doing an entire cemetery, etc.) just send that by email to me as an attached file in *.rtf format or in *.txt format with no use of tabs (use space bar for spacing). I know that cemetery submission form is slow and tedious if you are entering lots of burials. Also, the GenWeb Archives would like a copy submitted to them as well if you are submitting a complete cemetery. I would, however, appreciate your using the cemetery submission form if you are submitting only a few. On page 419 it states that it is SW of Chipley, GA in Harris County. I descend from Daniel Hay Zachry, Jr. b November 25, 1799 d July 1863 married Mary Ann Spivey b December 03, 1806 d May 06, 1882 Mary A Spivey is my GGGG grandmother and I would be interested in locating this cemetery. 1. [GAHARRIS] Pogues/Baileys 1840-1850?
    2. Marilyn Baker
    3. I am searching for information about Andrew Jackson POGUE and an Elizabeth M. Bailey(and family) b. circa 1800 in SC, husband unknown. Elizabeth was Andrew Jackson POGUE's grandmother. Her known children are: Jacob Bailey b. circa 1827 GA m. 8 June 1848 Troup Co. GA to Sarah Ann Smith b. circa 1829 GA. Mary A. Bailey b. circa 1826 SC Delila Bailey b. circa 1832 GA Another child could possibly be Elizabeth Bailey who married Jackson POAGE in Troup Co GA 2 Sept 1841. We believe this to be the parents of my ggrandfather Andrew Jackson POGUE (grandson of Elizabeth Bailey)who was b. 6 Oct 1843/1848 in Troup Co GA.. In 1840 there is an Elizabeth Bailey listed in the Troup Co GA census. With her is 1 male from 40 to 50 yrs old, 1 female from 30 to 40 yrs old(Elizabeth ?), 2 girls from 15 to 20 yrs old(possibly Elizabeth and Mary A.), 1 girl from 10 to 15 yrs old (possibly Delila), 1 male from 10 to 15 yrs old (possibly Jacob). She owned 6 male slaves and 6 female slaves. In 1850 Elizabeth, Andrew Jackson POGUE, age 2, and daughters Mary and Delila were in the household of Jacob and family in Troup Co GA. In 1860 Elizabeth, J. A. POGUE, and daughters Mary and Delila were in Troup Co GA. Jacob, Sarah and 5 girls were in Upson Co GA. In 1870 Elizabeth and daughters were in Talladega Co AL next door to Andrew Jackson POGUE and family. In 1880 Mary Bailey listed as an aunt was living with Andrew and family in Talladega Co AL. Family sources says that Andrew Jackson's family (parents/siblings) living in Chipley in Harris County. Does anyone know of any Pogues who are still living in Harris County that might be related to this family or can you make a connection or have any information about these people? I would be glad to share any material I have on them. Thanks. Marilyn Baker
