I'm especially interested in determining if he is the father of Joseph D. Hadley, Sr. (1851-1926), who lived in northern Randolph County, AL (near Ava) for much of his married life. J. D. was married to Sarah Thompson (1853-1944). I noted that there are Hadley cemeteries in Harris County but they are not transcribed on the county Rootsweb site. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Bill Fischer Lancaster, Ohio

Loretta, from Grand Lodge of Georgia, 1854 published by Mountain Press, Signal Mountain, Tennessee, 1999, page 154: James Kivlin Lodge, #146 Mulberry Grove, Harris Co. There is no Smith or Kimbrough listed as a member in 1854. (page 134 list of members) I almost didn't find the listing. It was alphabetized in the list of lodges by James rather than Kivlin. Hope this helps. Vivian , South Bend, IN
I have family history papers that refer to KIVLIN MASONIC LODGE #146. It is signed by T.J.L. Kimbrough, W.M.. It is regarding the death of William B. Smith and his wife, L.C. Smith, on April 9, 1861. I would like to know if this lodge was in Harris Co.GA, or perhaps a nearby county. I have sought the answer through several other avenues but to no avail. Thank you. Loretta Smith Randolph

Hi everyone, I am researching Jonathan T. Watson b. 1828 SC who enlisted in Muscogee Co. GA 5 May 1862 and served as Private in the Muscogee Volunteers, Co. C, 46th Inf. Reg. GA. He was apparently injured in the war, was admitted to the Way Hospital In Meridien MS March 23, 1865 and apparently died in 1865. He is buried in the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in Harris Co. GA. He left a widow, the Jane Grant Watson, (dau. of James Grant Jr and Sarah Johnsey of Harris Co. GA). Jonathan and Jane were married in 1849 in Harris Co. They had 7 children: Mary, James M. (m. Frances "Fanny" Jane Johnsey), Emily, Loduske (m. ___ Williams), Sarah, Lorenza and John M. (m. Mary ____). Seeking parents of Jonathan Watson; suspect he came from Chester Co. SC where the Johnsey and Grant families were from. If anyone has any knowledge of this family, I'd appreciate hearing from you. The second part of my posting may be of interest to other Watson researchers: As part of my research, I wrote to the GA Archives to see if I could get a copy of Jonathan Watson's Pension file, assuming one existed. Today I received a reply that they found nothing on him. However, they sent me copies of correspondence related to another Watson man in Muscogee Co. GA and some this information may be of use to someone else out there so I thought I'd post it to the list. I know nothing about the following Watsons, just copying from the info I just received: William Thomas Watson b. 1844 died Jan 29, 1923 at age 79, Muscogee Co. GA; served with the 4th AL Reg Wife Emmie Jane; in 1930's resided at 2912 3rd Ave, Columbus; age 73 in 1931; died Dec. 28, 1940. They married in 1892. Daughter Ola Watson Blue, same address in 1941 Hope this helps someone. Again, if you have knowledge of the Jonathan Watson family, would appreciate hearing from you. Lorien Gunsallus

I am seeking any information on Arminta Perkins. She was a member of The Baptist Church at Antioch in May, 1876. I believe her to be related to my Grandfather, Jesse Augustus Perkins and/or his guardian, Robert O. Perkins. Thank you.
SAMUEL FUNDERBURK (FUNDERBURG) is shown on the l820 Census of Edgefield Co. SC. He moved to Harris Co. GA about l835. His father was Anthony Walter Funderburk. Samuel believed born abt. l787 and d. after l830 prob. in GA I do not know the names of all his children, but the ones I know: Samuel, Jr.; Anthony; Andrew Jackson; Lucinda; Eleanor; James K.; Archibald; and Watson. I'm not sure that all of these were his children. His sons, Archibald and Watson joined the SC Cavalry from Edgefield Co. SC. There must be someone who is researching this family. Please contact me so we can share information. Gena ____________________________________________________________________ Get free email and a permanent address at http://www.netaddress.com/?N=1
I tried there but they are not there. The family was living in this area at the time and her brother and sister were married there. I do know that her first child was born in 1862 so it is likely that the marriage occurred after the ones listed on the age. Thanks!
