    2. In a message dated 3/28/02 2:26:18 PM Eastern Standard Time, [email protected] writes: << I read the copyright rules but still come away empty handed. >> If this is the book you are talking about Hall County Georgia Marriage Records 1819 - 1932 1985, by Frances T. Ingmire, 10166 Clairmont Dr., St Louis, MO 63136. It says published 1985 From the page: "The Current Copyright Law - Since Jan. 1, 1978, everything an author (including you and me) writes is protected by copyright the minute it is written. " "Copyright protection under the 1978 law extends for the rest of the author's life and an additional 50 years beyond it." If Frances T. Ingmire has been dead for 50 years then you are probably safe. If not then to put it on the webpage, I would need the permission form signed by the author and/or the heirs If you want to go to the Hall County Courthouse or to the microfilm and transcribe them yourself from the original records then I could post them as your original work, but I would want an affidavit to that effect.
