    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Simmons, Jones, Bradshaw Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/4c.2ADE/2132.1.2 Message Board Post: Vicki, Ailey's first husband was Wilson Hadaway, b. abt. 1790, d. 16 Dec 1813 in Wilkes Co., GA. They had a son named William Hadaway, b. 09 Nov 1812 in GA, d. 11 Jan 1899 in Cobb Co., GA. I believe I got this information from GedCom 2115534 Martha Burns. This site is by Betty L. Cash (cashbetty@hotmail.com), Martha Burns, 11-06-2004. In her notes for Ailey, she wrote: ***** Note 1. Found on 1820 census for Georgia, Wilkes County, unknown townships, image 2, name spelled Aley. She had one child, a son under age 10, and she was between 16 and 26 years. Listed immediately after her was another Hadaway family, first name of head of house not clear but looks like Amos. Head of house age bracket 16-26, son under 10, wife 16-26. Ailey married James Huckaby after 1820 census. The last census where she is found was 1860, Georgia, Hall County, image 209 where her name was spelled 'Ala.' She had a daughter Aly Ann Huckaby so correct spelling will probably never be established. Note 2. Huckaby family bible now (Oct 2003) in Oklahoma, lists her birth date which matches her age on the 1820 census. Note 3. Other researchers believe she was a sister of Rodicie King Hadaway, wife of Amos Hadaway. (From 2115534 Burns Gedcom) **** According to this, then Ailey's parents would have been Richard King, b. 1757 in Wake, NC and Rachel Dearman\Dearmon, b. 1777 in GA. I have no proofs of this and hope others may confirm or de-confirm this. Richard and Rachel have many GEDCOMS re them, but I did not see an Ailey listed among their children, so ??? I am descended from Nicie Elizabeth Jones. I am currently exploring the possibility that S.G. Jones may have been Starling G. Jones, b, either 1834 (1860 Hall Co. census lists him as SG Jones) or b. 1844. There is conflicting evidence, so cannot be sure if he is indeed Starling Jones. The James "Jim" Simmons, son of Benjamin H. Simmons and Nancy Minerva is of the Oklahoma Simmons. Jim died in 1946 in Marlow, Stephens Co., OK. Nancy Minerva's daughter Nicie married Benjamin Harrison Simmons' younger brother Jamed Madison Simmons. After the Civil War, James Madison Simmons, his brother Benjamin Harrison Simmons, and their father James "Jim" E. Simmons migrated from Forks of Pigeon, Haywood Co., NC (where "Cold Mountain" took place and where I also found Inman in the same census as the Simmons family). I have no idea if Jim E. Simmons wife Mary A. "Loisa"\Louisa ____ was with them or had died by then. They went to Hall Co. 1st, then on to Tuscaloosa, AL, Hog Mountain, Hall Co., GA, Atlanta, GA where James Madison Simmons and Nicie Elizabeth Jones were married, then on to Clarendon, Monroe Co., AR (Jim E., James Madison, Nicie Eliz. & their family), while Benjamin is alleged to have gone on to OK... Mary Louise Simmons, daughter of James Madison Simmons & Nicie Elizabeth Jones married George Willis Bradshaw and they pushed on to Oregon. It is a family legend that Benjamin was hanged in TX as a! horse thief some time later. No corroboration of that, though! Sharon
