June 5, 1846, died early), Missouri Francis [should perhaps be "Frances," but written "Francis" in the family bible] Shippey (b. 1846), and James H. P. Shippey ( b. 1849, d. 1877). I have many letters from John Milton Lokey, the son of Missouri Shippey, that give much information on this branch of the family, but I do not have time at the moment to dig it out. Several years ago I placed copies of John M. Lokey's letters on file at the Georgia Archives in Atlanta. Mr. Lokey also sent me a photocopy of a page from the old family bible. Missouri married John William Lokey (b. 1845). James H. P. Shippey never married. He is buried in Pioneer Cemetery, Fort Worth, Texas. I have a photograph of his tombstone sent by Mrs. Frances Waldrup of Mansfield, Texas. When I locate the photograph in my files, I can post more thorough information ! about him. Elizabeth Johnson Shippey had brothers living in the Austin and Houston, Texas, areas prior to the Civil War. I have sometimes wondered if there is a connection with the family of President Johnson.
