Elisha was born in 1875. Both books are available for purchase through the Hall and Banks county library system. I think the Hall county book is $25.00 and If you want the additional book that is an index it is another $25.00. The phone number is 770/532-3311. The Banks County book is by Richard Chambers, I think, but I am not positive it was $45.00. The Banks County Library phone number is 706/677-3164 The names of the books are TOMBSTONE INSCRIPTIONS OF HALL COUNTY, compiled by Sybil Wood McRay CEMETERIES AND DEATHS IN BANKS COUNTY, by Richard J Chambers, Feb 1,2000 Also Banks County has a fairly good book named , EARLY SETTLERS OF BANKS COUNTY INCLUDING SLAVES, by Barbara Le-Fevre. This book is $15.00. It is small and the author gives too many negative statements about the area people for my comfort. If you need any other help or would like a list from any of the books just let me know who you need.

Could someone tell me the names of the Stephens buried at Enon Baptist Church? I'm aware that Elisha Stephens is buried there, but would any of his children be there? Particularly interested in information on Walter Stephens. My grandfather, Elisha Stephens, buried in Morgan County. Death certificate states Walter Stephens as his father. While I have no records that would show this to be the same family, the names and the fact that my grandfather married a Cagle whose family lived in the same area in Hall County makes me think that this might be the right family. Could someone help?
