    1. [GAHALL] Nat'l Archives - East Point, GA
    2. Nancy Edwards
    3. Fran - This is the Southeastern Branch of the Nat'l Archives, so they have the Federal Census on microfilm for all States. It's located in East Point, GA which is in Fulton County & just south of the City of Atlanta. You can call for specific directions (404-763-7477) & if they've not changed their email address, it is [email protected], or if you want me to check the 1920 Census for you when I'm there next week, I'll be happy to do that. Well - I just went to the NARA site & found the page for the Southeastern Br. The URL is http://www.archives.gov/facilities/ga/atlanta/public_services.html#genealogy Let me know if this is helpful or not. 2. Nancy, Where is this place? I live in TN and I am trying to find my grandparents in 1920 to prove marriage for DAR and UDC. I have had no luck so far. I think they met in Hamilton Co. TN but I have checked with the TN archives and they have no marriage for them. I have also checked several other counties in TN to no avail. My mother was born in 1916 in Hamilton Co. so I think they were married around that time, but her sister was born in Feb. of 1921 in Tift Co. GA my grandfather was from Jackson County, GA (I think) I don't think pregnant women moved around much back then so I feel like they were in GA for the 1920 census. Contrary to what I have been able to find they had to be somewhere. My grandfather died in 1926 in TN so the 1920 is the only census they would have been in together. I know where Atlanta is if you can tell me about how far this place is from there I can come down and look them up. Oh, Yes does it have census for the entire state of GA? Thanks for any information you or anyone else can share with me. Fran Murphy

    1. Re: [GAHALL] 1930 census
    2. Jerry Garner
    3. Debra, I have looked up several of my families in the 1930 Oklahoma and Alabama census. There is no soundex, no index for these states. You have to figure out where they might have been during that time frame and just scroll through the census line by line. I was able to find quite a few families in Oklahoma because they all had stayed in one place for years. I haven't been able to look at the Georgia census as the library I go to here in Houston, TX does not have that state yet. Good luck! 2. Nancy Edwards
    3. Sorry - I mis-spoke. The 1930 Census *is* soundexed for a few States. Am afraid I was going on my experience to this point & I've not been fortunate enough to be researching a State that had a 1930 Soundex. Anyway the following URL may be of assistance: http://1930census.archives.gov/beginSearch.asp Sorry for the mis-information in my last email. 3. Debra - The 1930 Census isn't soundexed. Where do you live? Because if you're in GA, have you been to the Nat'l Archives in East Point? They have microfilm rolls which convert the 1920 ED# to the 1930 ED# (if you have the 1920 for your folks). I'll be down there next week. Let me know if I can help you. 3. Ref: Part 1.4 of Digest #77 on 7-30-02. Your Loggins name is of great interest to me. My gg grandmother, Sarah Loggins b1831 was married to Elbert Mullinax b 1812 SC. Their daughter Rachel Hazeltine Mullinax b1853, Habersham County GA, d. 1920 Navarro Co., TX, married Rubin Grissom Herrin b1850 Habersham Co. GA, on 8-8-1872, d 8-14-1939 Navarro County TX. Rachel and Rubin are my g grandparents. Do you have Sarah Loggins or any Herrins in your genealogy records? I'd really appreciate anything you would care to share esp. the Loggins family. She is my only entry from my many searches there in Hall and Habersham Counties of GA. Please answer on this board or at my e-mail address. Thanks and Blessings, Helen Ward Anderson of Central TX

Check the surname list. If you find names you are researching send me an email with the first and last name, including dates if you have them, and I will tell you if the book will be beneficial to you.
