Where you able to see the marker directly? Is there a source I can list for future reference as to the DAR marker for Francis Bell?

    3. I was interested in your O'Dell name. My grandfather's name was Odell Coursey. He was born in Johnston, Edgefield Co, SC in 1892. I have always wondered about the name Odell, as it does not show up in any of the ancestors that I have found back to 1790 census. Is there a famous Odell family that was in SC at some time that you know of? I was told he may have married more than once. ********We were told we may be related to him too.** My mother's maiden name was Hall. Her dad's name was Benjamin Franklin Hall. from Jefferson county Iowa. He married Elsie Charlotte Smith. They had three children together. Grandpa was also previously married to an Alice Litton and had at one son. Allen, and a daughter Venice. Grandpa's dad was William Hall born in Iowa, and he married Martha Jane Carver. They had five children together. William's parents were Hosea Hall and Elizabeth Snow possibly from Kentucky. They had 12 children. * I won't list children here but I have them if you are interested. Hosea Hall was the son of John Hall. (mother not known.) John Hall was born In Maryland and died possibley in Kentucky. ***Note. Capt Hall served in the Army of the Potamac under General Washinton. capt Hall was taken prisoner by the British, held at Charleston SC for a time and then Paroled. Source Early Times in Clinton County Vol 1 by Ferguson John married about 3 more times and many children. * again I have the lists. Phillip Hall was the 6th Generation They had 8 children. He married again and had a son John. We were told Lyman Hall is our ancestor but we have not been able to prove it. Some people said he only had one son and he didn't have children. Perhaps together we can sort it out.
