Pretty early I guess. I just looked through my book and there is no Fannie Jenkins in it. Now that is not to say she is not buried there, I have a lot of my Smith buried here in one of the Church Cemeteries but they are not listed, about ten of them actually. I lie close and will stop and walk it if you would like. Hazel

I hope you get this since it has been a long time since your post. I don't know if these may be the same family or not but here goes. My Rice family line lived in Hall County in the 1900's. My grandmother remembers her father, James (Jim) Rice (born in 1903), speaking of an Aunt Mat. I was wondering if this was possibly a short nickname for the Matilda you mention in your post. Also, James had a son he named Herman. James' father was Frank Rice. Frank was born in 1870 or 1873 in Hall Co., GA. Frank had a brother, Noah who was born in 1875 in Georgia. Please let me know if any of these other names sound familiar. I haven't been able to find anything past Frank or Noah. Thanks!

It deals with some Armour family members who were in the Civil War and may have served with the 43rd GA Inf. from Hall Co. I have a copy of a letter written by one of my Boyd relatives in May 1863 which mentions the death of an Armour or "Armor" family member named "James Armor" just before one of the battles at Vicksburg, MS. My relative wrote that James Armor was killed by a falling tree limb while he was asleep. From what I remember, there were some Armour family members in company K, 43rd GA INF from Hall Co. I'd appreciate any info on that person. My e-mail is: dale30809@aol.com
