By Forts Committee Department of Archives and History. Map showing the Four Mile Purchase and Wofford's Station. William Wofford can be found in the decisive battle of King's Mountain. In 1790 there were two families in North Carolina, headed by Benjamin and William. At that time there were seven families in South Caroline. In 1789 a son of the old Revolutionary Colonel, moved to Georgia and settled in Habersham County, and Gen. William T. Wofford was born in that county about 1820. Maybe this will help some.
