I have beating my head against the wall for about a yr. My husband's g-g-grandmother was Tene Smith which I think was Christina Smith born about 1835. On the 1850 Pickens Western Div of S C she was living with John and Elizabeth Pinter and she said she was 21- not so. She was about 15 and pregnant with my husband's great grandfather William Smith born about 1851. Next door is Susan Smith (40) which I think was Tene's mother. In the same division of S C a few houses over is Christopher Smith (53) wife and children. Also living with them is a Tene Smith (50) and Anne Smith (60). I think Christopher, Susan, Tene (50) and Anne (60) are siblings and my Tene belongs to one of them. In 1860 Pickens Div 2nd Regiment-Susan is still 40 (she lies) actually (50) and my Tene (Christina) is 25 (her real age) and son William Smith (9) and Sarah (4) are living with Isaac Raimey (48). In 1870 Long Creek, S C she is living with Elizabeth Sertain and she is 35 with son William, dau Sarah and dau Mary. In 1880 she in Habersham Co., GA (now Stephens Co. with her son William (head of house). We now live on the property they lived on in Stephens Co. If you can help me I would really appreciate it. I need to know who her parents were. Oh- by the way my Tene was never married and had 3 children. Thanks for your time. E-mail me trailsend1958@alltel.net
