I am searching for the parents of William R. Jenkins born 1825 in Habersham conunty.
I'm not sure that a deed will help you and a will may be very difficult to find. It appears that Nicholas Jenkins was born between 1790 and 1800 and lived in Habersham county in 1830. He was living in 1850 in Cass County with the family of Thomas and Martha Wofford and I couldn't locate him in 1860. Perhaps he died. There's a record that a Nicholas Jenkins was a fortunate drawer in the 1832 Cherokee Land Lottery and at the time was living in Emanual County, Georgia. Many winners didn't have the money needed to claim the land, so it reverted to the state. Perhaps Nicholas claimed the land, because Cass County was formed from the original Cherokee County. It's possible that Martha was his daughter and took him in in his old age. W.
