I would love to hear from anyone familiar with Christopher and his family. Gail Note: in my records (I did not document the source) I have him born in Walton, Ga.) and his death date as March 16, 1893 Christopher is the son of Ambrose Josiah Smith and Anna Glasner. He had 10 brothers and sisters. John Fageon, Joseph, John Ambrose, Aaron, Jesse, Isaiah, William, Charles Leander, Andrew Jackson and Henry. This is what I have found in the census. 1850 Census, Militia District 597, Rabun Co., Georgia Christopher (44) is living with his wife Hannah (35) and their children: Samuel (18), John (19), Mary (15), George (12), Bungey (10), Jasper (8), Newton (7), Rebeca (5), Fanny (3), Christopher (2) and Joshual (5 months old) On the same page of the 1850 Census her is living along side what I believe to be his brothers: Aaron (28), Ambrose J. (34) and Charles (25) 1860 Census, Habersham County, Clarksville, Georgia Christopher (56) is living with his wife Hannah (45) and their children: Mary, George, Bungey, Jasper, Newton, Rebeccah, Frances, Joshua, Caleb, Calvin and Hannah. 1870 Census, Habersham County, Mud Creek, Clarksville, Georgia Christopher (66) is living with his wife Hannah (54) and their children: Frances (22), Joshua (19), Caleb (18), Calvin (15) and Hannah (13) 1880 Census, Habersham County, Liberty Hill, Georgia Christopher (71) living with wife Polly (50) and daughter Fannie (30) along with his grandson Benjamin (7)
