    3. I believe that David McCallum is actually David McCollum, born August 6, 1777 in Rowan County, North Carolina and died October 20, 1865 in Dade County, Georgia. His wife was Sarah Graham. He removed from the Pendlton District of South Carolina to Habersham County, Georgia between 1820 and 1825. He was enumerated there in 1830 as a head of household with his son, Joab Lafayette McCollum, born in 1807, and Joab's wife, Sarah Charity Wood, living nearby. His first cousin, William, and William's wife Susannah Miller, were in the county by 1823. So was his cousin John McCollum and John's wife, Hannah Cantrell. His uncle, Daniel McCollum,. was also in the county by February 1826 according to his Revolutionary War pension application. David and Joab and their families moved on to Dade County in the mid-1830s. David was listed as a wheel wright in 1850. Dade County history indicates that Joab's home was used for religious gatherings in the years before the Cherokee were removed. David and Sarah had four daughters and six sons between their marriage in 1797 and 1820, but only Joab Lafayette has been definitely identified as their son.
