    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Free- Waldroup- Harris Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/3c.2ADE/1516.1.1.2.1.2.1 Message Board Post: Yes, the Power of Attorney was given on May 1, 1882 to Judge Norman (under seal), Judge of the Probate Court of Surry County, North Carolina and Clerk of the Superior Court. This Power of Attorney was recorded on June 4, 1883 . According to my notes, I do not find any rercord that he ever moved his church membership from Providence Baptist Church to Bethlehem Baptist or to Hazel Creek. Members of my immediate family were charter members of both Bethlehem Baptist (founded first) and Providence Baptist Church (formed second). In the 1868 Minutes of Providence Baptist Church, both Louis and Minerva Anne Free were listed as members. Jessee Lewis Waldroup was the last of Minerva's children and he was born on Feb.25, 1972 in Habersham County, Batesville District. In the 1870 Census Minerv's grandfather, John L. Harris was living in the household with Louis Lee and Minerva Waldroup. Although the date that Minerva Anne and her brothers and sisters sold their interest in their father's (Simeon Free") esate (remainder of Irena Sutton Free's Dower (Reversionary Interest), this date of 1882 relates only to the date the Power of Attorney was given by Minerva Anne Free transferring her (Minerva's) interest to her children, it does not have to coincide with the year of her death although Minerva absolutely HAD TO BE ALIVE when that power of attorney was given. I guess what will be necessary is that I will either have to go Surry County, N.C. or find someone up there who will make a copy of the original docxument Minerva had to sign to give the authority.
