The 2nd annual Batesville Historic Celebration is planned for Saturday, October 21st from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Batesville is a very old settlement in northwest Habersham County, 12 miles north of Clarkesville at the intersection of State Route 197 and Georgia 255. The event is held on the grounds of the Batesville Fire Station, Batesville Grocery and Old Batesville General Store. Attractions include: a morning turkey shoot, music, barbecue, cake walk, homemade ice cream, crafts and demonstrations, raffles from Scenic Highway 197 merchants, heritage plants, horse-and-buggy rides and more.
