Don't really know the protocol yet for using this list, so I'll just post my query and see if it gets through. My great, great grandfather, Eli B. Beard, Sr. shows up in the 1850 Habersham Co, GA census with his wife, Sarah Elizabeth Echols. I only know that next he shows up in the Dekalb Co, AL census in 1860, so I don't know when he left GA. The Beard family knows nothing more about Eli's roots and there is only a story passed down by my great aunt, that Sarah Elizabeth Echols was somehow related to Eli Whitney. But it's just a rumor since I have no hard data to support such a claim. I'm hoping that someone on this server came help me come up with something additional for us to go by. Please help if you can.
