It was announced this week that Georgia's State and Southeast Regional Archives will be moving to Clayton County, GA (outside Atlanta). The Georgia Archives will move from the Capitol area of downtown Atlanta to Morrow in Clayton Co., GA The new archives building will be in Gateway Village, a project planned for property next to Clayton College & State University. The new building will contain 171,000 sq. ft compared to the 140,000 sq. ft for the present facility. Plans to build a new Southern Regional Archives for the National Archives and Records Administration in Clayton Co. will replace the present dilapidated building The construction dates were not announced.
