Unfortunately not many of the markers survived --- and actually many probably were "field stones", not the tombstone marker with dates on them. Some of those "family cemeteries" did survive though...but you might look for where they actually lived and owned land.

I find them on the 1880 census in District 189, Nacoochee, White County, Georgia. Was this a part of Habersham at some time? In the home is also listed Jane's son Robert M. Little from her first marriage to Issac Little who was killed at the Battle of Vicksburg. Also need her maiden name if any one has a clue. Thanks, Hazel maverick42@bellsouth.net

Theres some pictues of Gillespies, Gaydon, Orr, Seay, and some mystery photos from some of these families on Ancient Faces.com I do better on that site by clicking on family then follow instructions, than typing in surname. Do whatever works for you. Nita AncientFaces http://www.ancientfaces.com/

I did find reference to this marriage after my post. I think Elizabeth was a sister to Isaac Wilkins II but I am not sure. I am on the road and don't have my notes with me. Do you have any info on the children of Samuel and Elizabeth? I seem to recall that there was a large discrepency in their ages and I wondered if this was a second marriage for Samuel. Also, do you have any information on Jonathan Gabby and his children? Thanks again Paul Bailey

Surnames: Cheek Coker Bates Floyd Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/3c.2ADE/1457.1.4 Message Board Post: I am looking for any information on the following people: Newell Coker and wife Catherine (Cunningham) who moved to Habersham Co, by 1838 and his children: Charity, Jacob W., Henry F, Reubin M, James A. Elizabeth and William G. Also if there were any other Coker names that may be descendants of these folks? Also if there is any information on an Alexander Henry, or any Cheeks and Bates folks that may have been buried in Habersham County also. We can't find our Lydia Cheek (daughter of Sintha Coker and William Cheek) who married a Robert Floyd either, althought don't think they were in Habersham Co. Lydia's sister Sintha Samantha Cheek has never been found either after her early years--maybe she died--don't know. Newell Coker was the brother of a Sintha Coker who married William Cheek in Elbert Co. in 1821. I think his brother was an Alsea or Alsa and maybe had a brother named Charlton also (that is very speculative), but he would have been older, and Newell may have had a younger sister as well. Anyway, these folks moved around a lot so maybe you won't find anything--don't know. Thanks for any help anyone has on these names---any information is appreciated
