    1. Early Genealogy & Historical Records, Habersham Co.
    2. Donna Warlick
    3. Today I called Mrs. Dempsey, the daughter of the author of the above named book. She was very gracious and helpful, but has no copies of the book to sell. I also called the Book Cellar in Clarkesville, (706)885-1312. The owner was not there today, and the lady answering the phone did not know if the Book Cellar has the Early Genealogy & Historical Records. She said the owner will be there tomorrow (Thursday) and they are open 10 AM to 6 PM, eastern time. Donna

Dempsey, 2 Tanglewood DR., Athens, GA 30606 (706) 549-5238. There was a notice posted on GAHABERS-L. 1. AYERS/KYTLE, Habersham Co., GA
    2. David Lineberger
    3. Seeking information on a Meeky AYERS, born ca. 1829/1830, who married a Lewis KYTLE in Habersham County, GA on August 10, 1848. Lewis was the son of Zachariah and Sarah KYTLE and was listed with his wife and children in the 1850 Habersham County Census. A daughter of Zachariah KYTLE-- Naomi KYTLE-- married W.R. AYERS, son of Jesse and Hannah AYERS, in Habersham County on Christmas Day, 1855. As families often married into families, I'm wondering if Meeky (Melinda?) could have been the unnamed daughter of Jesse AYERS who was born ca. 1829/1830 and was listed in the 1840 Habersham County Census. Any information or leads appreciated, David Davenport, IA [email protected]

    1. Blairs and Wheelers in Habersham
    2. Colleen Lill
    3. Hello fellow listers. I am new to the list and would like to "advertise" my surname interests. I have been looking for the name of Thomas Blair's wife for awhile now. James Wheeler (my ancestor) died abt 1807 in Greene Co TN and one of the beneficiaries of his will was Thomas Blair. I believe that Thomas was probably married to one of James Wheeler's daughters. I haven't been able to locate this Thomas Blair anywhere in TN. Some descendants of James Wheeler later moved to Monroe Co KY and Thomas Blair isn't there either. I was recently given some info of a Thomas Blair in Habersham Co, son of Samuel Blair and Elizabeth?. (Could this Samuel Blair be related to the James Blair of Habersham Co?) Thomas' wife was Lydie/Lydia, marriage date u/k. Only known child to date Sarah Blair b abt 1803. The name Lydie/Lydia has turned up in several generations of James Wheeler's descendants - his family was very big on the scottish naming pattern. Does anyone have access to the 1850 Habersham Co census? I believe that this Thomas and Lydie were still alive for that census and I would like to know what her birthplace is shown as. Does anyone have information about this family? I would like to hear from you. regards, Colleen Lill -- My mind works like lightning. One brilliant flash and it is gone.
