A number of months ago I sent an inquiry to Habersham Co, asking for the cost to obtain a copy of a specific record. As of today, I have not had a reply. Is there someone on the list who can explain the procedure to obtain copies from the county? Is it necessary to find a researcher to make the copies? If so, is there a list of researchers for the county? I am researching Obadiah Worley who lived in Habersham from approx 1812 to 1830. His property was later in White Co. Any help would be appreciated. Georgia Walsh

I found the following in Herbert Kimzey's book, "Early genealogical & Historical Records - Habersham County, Georgia" I hope that it may help in some small way. I'm sorry there wasn't a Mack Fagan listed, but perhaps he is related to some of the following. I also hope the format holds up once this message is transferred. If not it may be hard to read. After many years of searching, I have just learned that my husband's gg grandmother's maiden name was Wheeler. It was first thought that her father may have been George Wheeler but I have since found another very good possibility. It is Charles Wheeler who lived next door to Wm. Hiram Love and Olive Wheeler Love in 1840. If anyone has any knowledge of this Wheeler family I would love to exchange information with you in the hopes of proving who Olive's parents were. I have been unable to find them on the 1850 census so have no idea of the mother's name. Any help on this family would be apprecited. Ida

Do you know what the initial "R" stamds for? My gg grandfather was William Rodney Herrin, and I am searching for his parents and siblings. My Wm.
