Caswell Jordan CAMP was born in Panola co, TX in 1852. His parents, according to his death certificate, were Johnson CAMP and Emily T. LACY. Their marriage appears in Gwinnett co. records in 1838. After their son Joseph was born, around 1849 (1850 census, Gwinnett co), they went to TX. When Caswell CAMP was about 5 years old, his father Johnson CAMP died in Panola Co, TX. There is no record of a burial there. Family history is that Emily T. LACY CAMP left TX in about 1857, taking her children and returning to Georgia with her family. Who were her family members? I've found no Emily CAMP records, rather think she remarried. I've found no marriage of an Emily CAMP, so far. Caswell CAMP left home "with the clothes on his back" and went to TX, apparently with a sibling or two, arriving at age 15. He told a grandson "I am a member of the Choctaw Tribe. I have family in Paducah (Cottle co, TX)". LACY and CAMP researchers, please contact me! Sandra DeLashaw Warden Tulsa, OK LKWarden1@prodigy.net
